God Is with Us in Dark Times
Psalm 23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
The life of Joseph teaches important principles about challenging times. Here are three of the lessons we can learn from the adversities he faced:
1. Difficulties will continue until God’s purpose is accomplished. In Joseph’s case, God’s plan was to prepare him to rescue his family as well as the nation of Egypt from famine. In order to ready Joseph for a position of authority and responsibility, God placed him in an important Egyptian household as a slave. There, in difficult circumstances, Joseph could learn key lessons needed for the future. Not only did he acquire valuable skills, but his faith and relationship with the Lord were also strengthened. God still operates that way so we will be equipped to accomplish the work He has planned for us (Eph. 2:10).
2. We learn more in the dark than we do in the light. Besides discovering the Lord’s faithfulness, Joseph learned how to discern God’s presence, reject temptation, and handle any position, whether respected or lowly. The lessons and principles of Scripture truly become “ours” only after they have been tested and proven reliable.
3. What we learn in the darkness, we are to share in the light. Joseph openly shared his faith and knowledge from God when he interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams (Gen. 41:15-16). He did not let imprisonment stop him from helping others (40:1-23). What we learn in our trials is to be offered to those who are suffering.
Nobody looks for adversity, but hard times seem to find us often enough. Instead of fearing hard circumstances, we can trust God and embrace His plan, knowing He uses trials for His glory and our gain.
Blessings!

Fear
not [there is nothing to fear], for "I
AM" with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed,
for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to
difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you
with My [victorious] RIGHT HAND of rightness and justice.

Lean
on, trust in, and be confident
in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do
not rely on your own insight or
understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge
Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your
paths.

Keep
your lives free from the love of money and be content
with what you have, because God
has said, “Never will I leave you; never will
I forsake you.”
So
we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere
man (mortals) do to me?”

The GARDEN of our Hearts
The Garden of our HEART
You are my private garden, my treasure.
As our Husbandman, the Lord will manage the garden of our hearts perfectly if we will allow Him to have His way.
It is important for us not to resist His work or to pray against the things He wants to do.
If we ask Him not to send the till, then the hardness in our hearts would not be broken and become receptive to the life-giving seeds He wants to sow;
If we ask Him not to send the dark clouds, then we would not receive the rains that are needed to keep our hearts from becoming dry and barren;
If we ask Him not to send the summer sun, then our hearts would not send our roots
of faith deeper into the soil of His love;
of faith deeper into the soil of His love;
If we ask Him not to send the knife, then the branches of our hearts would not be pruned and be unable to produce the abundant fruit that will glorify Him;
If we ask Him not to send the strong winds, then our hearts would fail to send out the seeds that are needed to enrich the lives of others.
ALL He asks is for you to fully TRUST HIM, knowing HE will make it good. HE will perfect that which concerns you!
Our God Is Able!!!
God Sees The Little Things You Do
None of us can help everyone.
But all of us can help someone.
And when we help them, we serve Jesus.
But all of us can help someone.
And when we help them, we serve Jesus.
The little things you do...
the sacrifices you make...
may not always be noticed by others -
but God sees every one of them and smiles.
the sacrifices you make...
may not always be noticed by others -
but God sees every one of them and smiles.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23,24
